The scientists and engineers of AMS represent one of the most experienced battery development teams in the industry. Our project leaders include:

Abbas Samii
President and Chief Scientist
PhD. in Chemistry

One of the industry's leading scientists, Abbas has been on the faculty of the University of Kiel (Germany) and the University of Texas (Austin). His papers have appeared in major scientific journals, and he is the originator of several patents. Abbas has 26 years of practical experience, the last 16 of which have been directly involved in the design of new formulas, product development and laboratory testing of a variety of plastic membranes, particularly battery separators.

Garrin Samii
Vice President
M.S. in Industrial Engineering, B.S. in Chemical Engineering

Garrin obtained his MS at the University of Texas and has taught at the University of California, Irvine. He brings more than 25 years of experience in all areas of science and technology, with particular credentials in industrial systems and design for manufacturing principles. He has been actively involved in battery separator technology and development for the past eight years. Under Garrin's guidance new production equipment has been designed, built and brought online.

Dave Veno
Director of Manufacturing
B.S. in Chemical Engineering

David contributes more than 34 years of industry experience - 20 of which have been working on battery separation. Dave has been responsible for numerous manufacturing operations over his career so be brings invaluable commercial manufacturing experience and scale-up expertise to AMS.
