History Powerful industry drivers, such as portable appliances, record energy costs, and environmental regulations continue to challenge long-standing battery technologies. Recognizing the limited efforts to develop truly innovative solutions - particularly by separator companies in the U.S. - Advanced Membrane Systems was founded in 1996. After several years of research on novel chemistries and new process technologies; working with customers and testing labs; and collaborating with government agencies and industry leaders on research projects; a portfolio of new separator products was created. Locations Our research and manufacturing facilities are located in Billerica, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston.
